Forum staff news & an important reminder

Postby Dharmageddon on Sun May 30, 2010 2:05 am

Firstly, we would like to announce that two of our longest serving senior moderator staff have decided to step down from their positions. This comes due to real life commitments on both of their parts. Pete and The Strog have been onboard with the running of this forum since the very beginning, and their hard work and contributions can be seen and felt all around the forum. They have played a fundamental role in making the forum what it is today.

To both Pete and Strog, a massive thank you, and I speak for everyone when I say, don't be strangers. Wishing you all the best.

We have made some changes to the structure of the staff setup. This doesn't affect you directly, but it does mean that moderation coverage across all areas of the forum is now improved. You will notice that instead of there being two moderation teams, there is now only one. Both teams have been consolidated.

Lastly, and this is something that we feel needs to be touched upon. The SpoilerTV forum prides itself on it's friendly atmosphere, and the community has worked very hard over the past two years to ensure that it stays that way; staff and members alike. Offensive behaviour, such as verbally attacking fellow forum members, may be overlooked on other internet forums, but here we like to ensure that people can chat and debate without having to encounter such unruly and at times upsetting behaviour.

Calling forum members hateful names simply isn't tolerated, nor is baiting people into arguments. It isn't what this community is about. We are about providing a friendly community where civilized people can mingle and discuss their thoughts and opinions in a responsible way. It is very possible to partake in a debate without resorting to name calling, and we ask that all forum members try to keep this in mind.

It would be worth noting that persistent disregard of the forum rules can and does lead to forum suspensions and permanent bans.

If you should encounter any such unruly behaviour, please do not hesitate to issue a report. Details on how the forum's report function works can be found by clicking here.

The forum rules and guidelines can be found by clicking here.

Thank you.
