In the best interests of our forum community, 'SpoilerTV' strives to ensure that this forum is as enjoyable and as safe a place as possible. As such, all forum members must adhere to certain rules and guidelines. These rules & guidelines are outlined in full below.
The word of forum staff is final. If a member of forum staff makes a request or issues a warning, respect their decision and adhere to it. All moderator staff are well within their rights to issue official warnings where they deem necessary, which in turn can lead to account suspensions and permanent bans. The words of a moderator should not be taken lightly. Please adhere to the forum rules and guidelines. Action is taken against rule-breakers and repeat offenders.

OFFENSIVE BEHAVIOUR / HARASSMENT -
Our Definition of "Offensive":
Offensive material is defined as any text, image or forum content that is more than likely to offend someone because of its degrading nature to a group or individual. This includes but is not limited to: abusive, vulgar, sexually degrading, racial and/or threatening comments; text, photo, or video hyperlinks to anything defamatory or pornographic in nature; and/or any other material that is in violation of the law.
With this in mind, should you see any material that you consider to be offensive, please alert the staff by reporting the post or sending a private message to one of our forum moderators.
The swear word filter:
In order to maintain a happy and family-friendly community, we have always asked that users refrain from swearing. Thanks to a forum swear filter (which automatically filters out common swear words), this has never become too much of a problem.
However, we would also like to deter away from such work-arounds as ‘f*ck’ (example). This can still be seen as offensive to some, and understandably so. Therefore, we request that users do not attempt to exploit the swear filter in this way. Either refrain from swearing, use ‘****’, or allow the swear filter to do its job.
To reiterate. Do not attempt to disguise swear words using asterisks symbols.
The harassment of forum users and forum staff alike is greatly frowned upon. There is to be absolutely no bullying behaviour or bullying tactics on our forum. This applies to both public and private (PM) harassment. If you have an issue with somebody on the forum, you are welcome to contact a member of senior staff.
We ask that all forum users respect one another. If you disagree with a point somebody is trying to make, dispute their point and not the actual forum user. The excessive use of ‘You’ in these types of posts can be construed as rude, condescending and at times plain nasty. Equally, we will not stand for forum cliques ganging up on other forum members in this fashion (or any other fashion for that matter).
It can often become the case that small groups of forum users sometimes form into what we refer to as cliques. Cliques are generally an exclusive set of friends who share common interests. Sometimes, and occasionally, these cliques can knowingly or unknowingly portray a gang like mentality. This is counter-productive to what this forum strives to be, and we ask that forum users show all other forum users the same kind of respect that they would their friends.
We do not and will not tolerate any kind of bullying or provoking behaviour.
Regarding personal information:
Forum users are prohibited from posting/displaying personal information belonging to other forum users, or anybody other than themselves, unless they have been given clear permission before hand. This includes real life names, telephone numbers, postal addresses, contact addresses, personal images/photos, and any other information that may be considered private.
Please respect the privacy of others.
Rules for Private messaging (PM's):
When creating a private message, please remember the following:
• PM's must not be offensive.
• PM's must not be sent to multiple users. (Unless agreed to beforehand.)
• If a user asks you to stop messaging them, you must do so.
In addition, please remember that the private messaging system is here as an added bonus to our members. It is not an instant messaging application and should not be used as such.
Note: In the event that you receive a PM violating these rules & guidelines, you may report it by forwarding the PM to a Senior Staff member, and changing the title to include <reported PM> at the beginning.
SPOILERS / POSTING GUIDELINES -
Please be advised that spoilers are not permitted in non-spoiler forum sections.
Previews, Sneak Peaks, Podcasts, Articles, News Stories and Interviews which reveal information that has yet to air in an episode is considered a 'Spoiler'. Once an episode has aired in the USA (EST) revealing said information, it is no longer considered a spoiler.
Please take note:
• Posting of spoilers in non-spoiler forum sections is prohibited
• Do not post spoilers in thread titles
• Do not post hyperlinks which contain spoilers in a non-spoiler forum section
• If you have a doubt, feel free to ask one of the 'SpoilerTV' Moderators
Knowingly posting false information as a spoiler in a spoiler forum section is frowned upon, and may result in an official warning being issued. Do not post false information, and do not attempt to mislead ‘SpoilerTV’ users.

(Members should use their best judgement when deciding which forum or sub-forum to post a topic in. Topics may be moved at the discretion of 'SpoilerTV' staff)
• Topics must not be offensive.
• Topics must not be spam. (Unless in the spam forum)
Guidelines for Posting:
When making a post, please remember the following:
• Posts must be related to the discussion of the topic that you are posting in.
• Posts must not be offensive
• Posts must not be spam. (Unless in the spam forum)
SPAM / ADVERTISING -
Our Definition of "Spam":
'SpoilerTV' defines spam as any post that does not contribute ideas, thoughts, and/or additional discussion to a particular Topic. Examples of spam include: Mass flooding of a topic or forum section, any post specifically designed to advertise a product and/or website, mindless thread bumping, double posting, or any attempt to disrupt an ongoing discussion.
Double posting in quick succession is frowned upon. However, in the case of older threads of interest (and needing to bump them), double posting is permitted. Just ensure that your post contains some degree of depth and significance to the discussion at hand. “Bump!” posts are frowned upon.
The 'SpoilerTV' forum has adopted a strictly no advertising policy in regards to user owned money-making websites. This also includes blog selling and Ebay selling, as well as commercial trading of any kind. This community forum is not a medium for people to profit from. Anyone found to be selling or trading through the forum will be addressed.
Exceptional circumstances, as pertaining to trade, trade discussion, and the sanction of it, will be determined by senior staff.
Helpful commerce links will be deemed such at the discretion of forum staff.
Note: SpoilerTV recognizes that English may not be your first language. However, in order for posted material to be considered "Non-Spam", all material in question should be made in legible English. This is an ENGLISH LANGUAGE site.
De-railing of threads and discussions:
Derailment occurs when a particular thread discussion is ignored and an unrelated discussion is started. Derailment is more often than not caused by spammy conversations between users.
Examples of thread de-railing are:
• Advertising a thread within an unrelated thread
• Starting and continuing a conversation that pays little or no relation to the thread itself
• Using a discussion thread to chatter casually amongst friends
Discussion derailment is greatly frowned upon. It is considered rude and discourteous. De-railing thread discussions disrupts the flow of the intended topic/s. Forum members who wish to partake in forum discussions can often find themselves deterred when threads are derailed in this manner. This is not fair, and it will not be tolerated.
All cases of discussion derailment will be dealt with seriously, so please heed this advice.
STAFF RELATED ISSUES -
On internet forums, it can often become the case that established forum members see it fit to openly enforce forum rules. This is called ‘backseat moderating’.
It is solely the job of forum staff to enforce rules and laws, so we ask that forum users refrain from lecturing other forum users in such a way. Backseat moderating can lead to a lot of problems, as have been seen on many other forums in the past. We do not plan to repeat those same mistakes here.
Whilst we appreciate the intentions of users wanting to be helpful, we ask that you refrain from trying to enforce the rules yourselves. Instead, if someone is behaving inappropriately, let the moderator staff know. Do not deal with the issue yourselves.
Moderators are trained to know where the line is between ‘acceptable’ and ‘unacceptable’, and when regular forum users attempt to do this, they can make mistakes, cause confusion, offend and discourage other members from posting. So again, issue a report and DO NOT react to the issue yourselves.
Blatant backseat moderating can now be considered against the forum rules, and repeat offenders will receive a warning.
Contacting staff regarding forum policy:
Please be aware, private discussions between users and staff, pertaining specifically to rules and forum policy, can and may be read by senior staff and forum moderators.
Forum Staff - Complaints:
If you happen to have any issues with the actions and/or methods of a ‘SpoilerTV’ staff member, you may contact a forum administrator. An investigation into your claim will take place and any issues will be resolved that way; tactfully.
There will be ‘NO’ public questioning or ridicule of a ‘SpoilerTV’ staff member’s ability to moderate this forum. If you have any issues, and wish to have them addressed, you will follow the procedure in the paragraph above.
To reiterate: Do not attack the actions/methods of a member of the ‘SpoilerTV’ forum staff publicly on the forum. Contact a forum Administrator if you have any complaints.
In addition, if you have an issue with the way that a moderator has conducted themselves on the forum, do not attempt to PM them questioning or attacking their ability to moderate. You should instead contact a member of the senior staff. Senior staff is the correct channel to go through.
