As much as the Riddler is a cool villain, a Batman 3 where the Riddler was the villain would basically be a rehash of TDK. A new villain pops up who is killing people and pushing Batman to his limits. That's what we just saw. My gut says that Nolan wouldn't write a movie just based on a cool villain. He's interested in the journey Bruce is taken through, so to me it seems like another villain would be needed in a unique situation, and not the usual "Oh, a new villain has surfaced who must be stopped."

Honestly, I don't think there should be a third film in this series. There will be eventually... but it will not live up to TDK. The Joker is the ultimate villian in general. He thrives on agression. Pushes our hero to the very limits of what he can and will do to stop people. Looks ridiculously cool while doing it, and delivers some clever lines. Not to mention a brilliant performance. The only actor who could top Heath is Depp. Unfortunately, there isn't a villian who could top The Joker. Think about it. The Joker was the ultimate villian in the series, and comics. The third one's end villian woudl of been The Joker again, bigger and better. Probably in Arkhum(sp) until late in the second act, and our villian thus far releases him on the city. "an unstopable force meets an immovable object" really guys, Nolan obviously planned Joker would be significant in a third one, he wrote it that way.

i think that clearly, there shouldn't be a 3rd film, simply because it will be nearly impossible to top HL's performance in TDK. Truth be told, it's all about one thing $$$. I do think that Nolan hasn't discussed anything with anyone and it has been all speculation.

Wait, am I nutts os this thread started saying Johnny would play The Joker when it was actually reported that he would play The Riddler? Either case, I love him, though I think after Heath's mesmerizing performance it will be hard to find another fitting Joker. Perhaps he could become one of these characters that is only spoken about, never seen...he could pull the strings being "away". And I think Angelina could make a great Catwoman.

Oh, and I believe we should give the Nolan bros enough time to work on the next one. After all the've done for The Dark Knight, they will really need some time to come up with another script like that!

I'm against a 3rd film too tbh. For me, after Heath's death, it would be best to just leave it be. Would be more respectful that way i think. Plus, The Joker cannot be topped. I think Batman 3 is doomed from the start as it couldn't possibly live up to the epicness that was TDK.

Why does it have to live up to TDK? Sure, it almost definitely won't be as good, but does that mean it should never be made? It could probably be better than Batman Begins, so why not make it if there is a good script? It doesn't have to be better than TDK just to be a good movie.

Agree. Many people disliked Quantum of Solace because it wasn't Casino Royale. But with their comparison, they forgot that QoS was a fun action flick as well.

Has anyone heard this Christian Bale rant? Wow. Poor guy.

Article:

While filming Terminator Salvation a few months back, Christian Bale went ballistic when Director of Photography Shane Hurlbut ruined a scene by walking onto the set.

The 35-year-old actor threatened to stop production if the producers didn’t fire Hurlbut. TMZ reports that film execs sent the tape to the insurance company that insured the film in case Bale bailed.

“You’re a nice guy but that doesn’t cut it when you’re bulls—ing and f—ing around on set!” yelled Bale during his almost 4-minute rant.

He seems to have some kind of an Anger Management problem. Weren't there reports of him being arrested recently for assaulting his mother and sister?

He needs to take a chill pill.

I think they'll take it full circle, I wonder if the villain they choose will be someone completely left field.

Please no Riddler...We don't need the plot to be "ahhhh there's like a new villain omgz!"

Black Mask or Hush FTW.

Hush would be awesome, though nobody outside the comic fans will have heard of him :( That might not be a bad thing though...

As for the future: I don't see how they could use Poison Ivy, Man-Bat, Bane or Catwoman (after the dreadful film).

So is it any news on this movie? last thing I heard was that Gary Oldman confirmed at SDCC that they are going to do the movie. I'm very exicted for this movie I hope Nolan still has the interest of doing it.
