I love this film and eventhough I hate rodents, I root for Ben. Willard is brilliantly acted by Bruce Davison, but the character deserved what happend to him after killing his rat friends who did his dirty work.
The sequel to this, Ben, is not that good, but it did have a nice theme song, sung by a very young Michael Jackson.

Never watched the 1971 version so not voting. But loved the modern version. I was rooting for the rats.

I have to be honest, if it wasn't because you suggested it for the the Movie Club, I don't think I would have ever watched it. That being said, I'm glad you did, dutchie. :) I really liked it and, yes, I also root for Ben. Good stuff! Oh, and Ernest Borgnine... excellent! :D

i must get a look at this film... does the remake suffer from the ususal remake symptoms ? as in they changed the ending ??
You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don't
owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to
put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission,
don't even start asking for theirs.

Yep, they changed the ending, but its still a good watch because Crispin Glover is amazing.
