I think I'm going to go back to the old format for the next two matchups (two separate threads). I want to speed things up in the second round, but I don't want to clutter up the page too much.

My votes: The Godfather and One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest

Why no option for American Beauty and One Flew Over the Cuckoo`s Nest? That would be my option if I could vote for it.

It's a tournament-style competition, with two head-to-head matchups here.

I'm going to split it onto separate threads next time, because I don't like the way this works (you can't do two polls on one thread).

Well, those two movies are going against each other.

EDIT: Wow, I did not expect Schindler's List to move ahead of The Godfather.

I guess The Godfather is not appreciated around here. Godfather Part II lost to Return of the freaking King, and now Schindler's List has pulled ahead of the original.

Schindler's List and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Two of my favorite films.

I like the Godfather pretty well, but the films that have been up against it so far I have just personally enjoyed better. Schindler's List was a very soul-stirring film (I have always been fascinated with WW2 history and the Holocaust) and it moves me to tears each and every time I watch it. It's almost painful to watch at some points, yet history deserves to be told and not shunned, no matter how painful that history might be.

And One Flew Over...has long been one of my favorite films. I like underdog stories and those with meanings that will sit with me for a while after I've gotten done watching the film. ;)
