Psycho.
The real, human threat is scarier and more interesting to me than the fantastic alien one. Also, I just love the sharp turn the film takes halfway through. It's a masterpiece.

Psycho. Hitchcock's finest in my opinion. He did a lot of fantastic and breakthrough films but this one has that little bit extra.

Pshh. Alien.

It's safe for me to say that Ripley is the toughest female movie character of all-time.

This one might be the toughest one for me, aside from Citizen Kane vs. It's a Wonderful Life.

I picked Alien temporarily, but I might switch back and forth a few times.

I chose Alien for three reasons

1. This was the first movie that I remember where the stylist/designer was credited
and interviewed and viewers found out how effects were produced.
It was the beginning of the whole behind the scenes thing
Indeed sometimes this is more fascinating than the actual film.
2. Ripley's vest featured in my famous Visual Vocabulary of the Vest lecture
3. Loved the spoof scene with Sooty bursting out of John Hurts chest

Loss & Possession, Death & Life are one : There falls no shadow where there shines no sun

I didnt really like the first Alien, it was just long shots of people looking for a cat and long shots of people going down shafts(it surprised me we didnt see long shots of them on the loo or sleeping). Psycho on the other hand is awesome.

Psycho.

If you go into the film with no knowledge of the plot at all, it's amazing.

Alien is good, but Psycho...ah, a masterpiece. :D
