That's called suspense :PP

To quote Hitchcock: A bomb going off is action. A bomb not going off, now you've got suspense.

But with Alien there wasnt even a bomb to begin with.
I love suspense in films(havent experienced it in quite a while though), but this was just tedious. Maybe its because I knew Ripley and Jones the cat were the only ones who survived before I saw the film.

alien, hands down...

of course psycho was shocking - killing off the biggest name in the films first 20 odds minutes in was brave for the time... and hopkins was very very good as mr / mrs bates...

but alien... amazing film... im really glad they didnt call it star beast... that would have sucked... the xenomorph was such as amazing creation... gigers nightmare came to life... thanks to some tall skinny nigerian dude...

personally i loved the long tracking shots in the ship... for me it really highlighted the fact that as the poster said "in space no one can hear you scream"
You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don't
owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to
put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission,
don't even start asking for theirs.

It's safe for me to say that Ripley is the toughest female movie character of all-time.

Ripley forever :tank:
