It's all about hope, the use of violence and, most importantly, redemption.

The end of the film, for instance, sees us presented with a changed man (Jules) and an unchanged man (Vince). Both having been through the same series of events. Jules chooses to have faith and leave his life of crime. Vince does not, and as he know he dies.

I wrote a big long passage there but I deleted it to save space :P
