Rifftrax/MST3K

Postby Finli Otego on Wed Nov 11, 2009 3:27 am

So, I recently found out about Rifftrax, and now I'm addicted.
For those of you that don't know, Rifftrax is a site where you can download hilarious commentary tracks to movies.
They're done by Mike Nelson, and usually Kevin Murphy and/or Bill Corbett, all three of whom were stars of the T.V. show "Mystery Science Theater 3000". It's very similar to that show, if you are familiar with it.

So, any fans out there, of either?
What are your favorite Rifftrax?
What were your favorite episodes of MST3K?

Quick question, because I don't feel like going on the site.

Is it free to download or do you have to pay for them?

You have to pay. Most are $3.99. But they're so worth it.
You can find a few....other places....to see if you like them, though. I know for a fact ( ;) )that the Rifftrax for "The Matrix" is floating around.

Big fan of both here
MST3K was always fun to watch. A few of my favourites are Soultaker, The Deadly Bees, Hamlet and the movie: This Island Earth.

I was so glad I found out about Rifftrax because I missed watching film with their comentary. A few of my favourite Riffs are Twillight, The Harry Potter ones, The Matrix ones, The Room(that film is funny as hell even without the rifftrax) and The X Files Fight the Future(it has Mary Jo Pehl and Bill).

As for getting them some place else ;) ;) when I dont own the dvd I get them all synced up some place else, but I do donate a small amount to the guys of Rifftrax. They deserve it.

Bacon sandwiches, is that you?

[shot of Malfoy]
BOY is my face punchable!

"Oh Mr. Malfoy, quit making such a fuss, you can go!"
And kindly remove the rectal thermometer before you leave!

"What are you playing at?"
Uhhh...who are you, and what does that even mean?

Anakin: From my point of view, the Jedi are evil!

You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don't
owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to
put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission,
don't even start asking for theirs.

I think its also funny that some of the MST3K qoutes come up in Rifftrax, like the "you are ordered to leave the Bronx" from Escape 2000. Although, they also used that one on many other MST3K episodes.
