From director J.J. Abrams ("Mission: Impossible III," "Lost" and "Alias") and screenwriters Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci ("TRANSFORMERS," "MI: III") comes a new vision of the greatest space adventure of all time, "Star Trek," featuring a young, new crew venturing boldly where no man has gone before.

Chris Pine ... Kirk
Zachary Quinto ... Spock
Eric Bana ... Nero
Simon Pegg ... Scotty
Winona Ryder ... Amanda Grayson
Zoe Saldana ... Nyota Uhura
Karl Urban ... Leonard 'Bones' McCoy
Bruce Greenwood ... Christopher Pike
John Cho ... Hikaru Sulu
Ben Cross ... Sarek
Leonard Nimoy ... Spock
Anton Yelchin ... Pavel Chekov

It's a bit of a weird cast, but Abrams knows casting. A lot of people have serious doubts about the film, but I actually think Abrams will pull it off.

That would be the only reason I see it. I am a Star Wars fan, so Star Trek is outlawed lol. But I might have to make an exception for this though....

I was a hard core Trekker a ways back...so I might look in on it...

Hard to imagine a new cast for my old beloved characters, tho.

I've never really been a Star Trek fan,

But...With J.J. Abrams, Zach Quinto, Eric Bana  , Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, and John Cho , I am now excited about this movie.

JJ will pull it off I personally love both Star Trek and Star Wars no point to me to fight over which was better or keep myself from the greatness of both series just because of the whole fandom battle.

It is an interesting cast I guess. I love Zach Qunito for Spock I think he can pull it off. No clue on Chris Pine don't even know him. Simon Pegg as Scotty yes yes!!!!!

Should be great because it's JJ!!!!

I'm not a trekkie, but the film seems great. I'll definitely going to watch it.

It's a good trailer. I'm in no means necessary a trekkie, but because J.J. Abrams is on board to do this movie, I gotta see it. I'm a believer of his work, it looks like a terrific sci-fi movie.

It's interesting how split people are on this movie.

Generally speaking, from what I've seen, people who are younger, who watch more television, and/or who are J.J. Abrams fans seem to be very hopeful. Those who are older, who watch less current television, and who consider themselves Trekkies are much less forgiving and are certain Abrams is gonna run this into the ground.

Yeah, it's flashier. Yeah, the action is more intense. Yeah, it's a new cast for old characters. But that doesn't mean Abrams will destroy the mythology or leave us with a weak plot. It's sad how people are jumping to conclusions so quickly, assuming it will suck.

Personally, I'm with you guys. The casting choices are great, Abrams can definitely pull this off, and I can't wait.
