sides from WindSprints @ TWoP

Dominick - ER patient, 27, arm stuck in a meat grinder. Dr. Howard (its Callie) asks how long has he been in this thing. Dominick says 10 years, nurse says that the paramedic estimated 3 hours. Dominick is in how own world of pain. Says for 10 years he's been shoving meat in the grinder and not even a scratch. Then, they got this huge order for an Italian wedding with all the mortadella, salami, soprasetta... Callie is feeling around the grinder trying to figure out what they are going to do. Says they will need something more heavy duty than a bone saw to get through it.

Dominick continues, he told others to go home, he's a big shot, he'll do it all himself and work all night. Closed his eyes for 2 seconds and now he's the soprasetta. Says his brothers are never going to let him hear the end of this. Callie asks what the difference is between salami and soprasetta.

Callie still working to free Dominick from the grinder. Dominick is drugged up and not really present. An intern comes in and says to Callie that he/she was going to treat the patient per your instructions but thinks its the wrong course of action. Dr. H says that's right, it was a test, good work. Dominick slurs "way to go". They look at him but he's already back in dreamland.

Post-op: Callie and Meredith are with Dominick and his brothers Mike and Tommy. Dominick's hand is bandaged but we can see he has several of his fingers. Mike asks what are they looking at under all the wrap, some kind of roast? Dominick says he's the best, Callie says they saved 3 fingers and his thumb, Mike says good work but they were hoping for a hook. Now Mike is a full fledged member of the family. He and Tommy hold up their hands and they have like 15 fingers between them. Dominick says what about the middle finger Dr. Torres? Would like to make sure he gets to use that again. Tommy says don't be like that but do they have a room full of hooks around?

Chuck - 16 year old Peds Patient. Dr. Howard and Dr. Black round on Chuck Fisher. Alex examines Chuck while Morgan continues to quiz him. As they speak Chuck looks back and forth trying to follow the conversation. Dr. Howard (Alex) says they'll take him to surgery and bronch him. If they bleeding doesn't stop they'll have to crack his chest. Chuck says YOU HAVE TO WHAT? Alex tells him to relax, not him. Chuck asks are you or are not gonna crack open my chest? Alex says he say not him.

Dr. Turner
- John and Carol are arguing in front of their therapist. John says every time they visit his parents its the same story. She's rude, inconsiderate and mean to his entire family. Carol tells the therapist he never stops criticizing. The therapist asks Carol if she can get beyond the way John is speaking and hear what he is trying to say. Carol launches into explanation as the therapist listens (explanation not in the side).

Next scene: John and Carol sitting on the sofa in the therapist's office. Silent and not looking at one another or the therapist. Painful, horrible silence. The therapist looks at Carol, then at John, checks his watch and says he's afraid their time is up.

Carrie - long time patient of Dr Smith and she has multiple health issues, but most notably and what she appears to be in for is Lymphedema, which is major swelling of her arms (can be legs too). She tells Dr Smith she heard it is a tough procedure, but there has been success. Dr Smith tells her they have been through a lot and she is the success story. She says she has a grandchild on the way and she wants to be able to hold her grandbaby in her arms and that she wants to take the risk and do the surgery.
