You know it can be a long time or really fast. The spray painting will all be done tonight, as well as the stenciling. That's my goal. Then tomorrow I'm going to do a test pallet to get the right acrylic colors. Since I just added that to the equation. Since I am really going to be painting the map twice, it might take twice as long. I hope to finish the acrylic and the blue black light paint by next weekend. So within the week if I get my new pink color, I can finish the whole thing in the next two weeks.

It's really been a lot of thought and little details to get it all right. I'm glad I found some banner paper so I dont spray anything but my canvas either! Also I am a little glad I ran out of paint before it is swelteringly hot out here.

I wouldn't EVER sell it. no way, I want it for myself. Especially after the time and work I am going to put into it.

Hey thanks! That is helpful. I took the last week and a half off because I went to the beach and I made a commercial for the conan obrien create your own commercial contest.

So now that that is done back to the 12 boards of canvas. I have each one ready and painted with a background, and this weekend I am doing a very light pencil outline of the words and Map on each piece. So next week will be the acrylic and then the final real UV Light Paint. So It should be done in a week, and the Blacklight part done in 2 weeks.

Bad news...

I was about 50% done with the acryllic (went on an unexpected vacation.)

Anyways. I used a certain type of spray paint. apparently it was too thick in some spots, or maybe just over time it sort of developed fabric like quality and began to rub and peel off of the canvas..!

SO! I have to re-paint 12 new boards and start over. This time I am going to use normal acrylic paint, but in big quantities and a paint roller to get the job done. It is Very frustrating because I had hoped to have been finished by now, but at least I know I can get it done much faster this time around.

Awww that really sucks. :S I'm sorry to hear that.

Hopefully you won't run into any bigger problems this time around, and that it will go quickly. Good luck! ;)

I did the entire backgroud last night. it came out much nicer than with the spray paint!!! I'll upload the pics later today that I took. Then Im going to stencil the whole piece so i can start painting tonight or tomorrow. Now that I had to start over I'm working twice as hard to finish lol.

Man their is so much detail on this, not to mention lining all the pieces up perfectly and the map across 12 parts takes a Very long time. It took me over 6 hours to stencil the entire piece. Though I did finish, I have to say the background came out extremely nice, and I just finished the first part of painting which is the rivers. I am going to update with pics finally tonight of some actual painted map! so excited to finally be far enough to share it with you guys, since its just been a lot of long tedious detail work.
