Okay I have the water ways and the octagon finished!!! I am going to do the Pink colors and the blue connecting lines later tonight (hopefully) I need a break first.

Its actually been a lot more work than you can even imagine. Although it looks rather simple. The process of lining them all up to paint the background with rollers and adding details like rust and aging took a long time. Then the stenciling took absolutely forever since it has to be done piece by piece and all line up correctly. Then the painting must also be done one part at a time. I'm just glad I had my Seinfeld DVDs to keep my company lol.

The whole piece is 5'4 by 5 foot so 64 inches by 60 inches. Only 9 pieces are here because this is what I have painted so far, the other 3 have the backgrounds and stencil, but I didn't take the time to get them since the map is what I really want to show.

Hope you enjoy!

Haha thanks, from the way I talked about it I amde it sund MUCH easier than it has been. I dont know why i thought it was going to be such a quick and easy project. I started on the pink colors last night and I am going to finish them today, so I will update with some more added to the map after that.

Then the text. Then the blue connecting lines, the yellow colors, and just touchups.

Haha thanks guys. It's taking forever though, last night I did some detail on the pink, since I have to do two layers of it for the color to show well, you can see the top ones aren't as bright because they only have one layer. I still have to finish the rest of the X's and the text in the stations and add the I AM HERE part in pink with the middle done. Then I will post another picture before all of the Text.

The coloring also might seem a little off I took this in the middle of the night in bad lighting with a flash, I'm going to try and take the next one during the day so you can see it better.

New Update!!!

Image

Below is a link you should click to a much larger picture of it. Size limits 500 pixils on here. The newest update added a lot more details which cant really be seen as much unless at a bigger size plus you can see the station logos better.

I will be away for a for days but when I get back Ill do about half of the text or more before my next picture than the final piece most likely after that update.

It looks great! Although the yellow around the question mark seems really bright! Is it always going to be like that?

Otherwise it really is amazing. It looks so cool! :D

Its all pretty bright, but in reality no it doesn't look like that. I have to use flash to get the picture, the yellow doesn't blind you in person lol. All these pictures the color and detail are ff because of the flash it fades out the finer details of the text in the hatches and the logo's and makes all of the big colors like the big blue octagon and yellow super reflective.

Also some parts seem off or askew, but it's laying down on the floor and the boards curve up at the ends, u ntil I put it up on the wall it won't look totally right.

Why thank you, a little more than halfway I suppose. I need the text, blue lines connecting the stations and then detail/touch up work. It will prob be a little while until my next update seeing as the text will take some time, hopefully later this week if not by the weekend.

If only I had as much patients as you. :P

It would probably take me years to finish something like this, because I'd be freaked out about screwing it up. I'm like that. :/

Oh man I actually feel the same way. Believe it or not I don't really paint anything. I love to make things, and I used to do a lot of art, but I never really tried my hand at painting until recently. Each time I start the next part I get so nervous about screwing it up, i was dreading doing the pink paint and ruining the whole thing.

Now I'm worried about doing the same thing with the text! :cursing:
