How did everyone make their avatars?

Postby OpenYourEyes on Wed May 26, 2010 6:52 pm

I've been looking around today trying to find an avatar that suits me. It seems like a lot of good ones are taken. But I've found a couple of pictures that I'd like to use but can't seem to get them to the correct size... the biggest size I can use is 130x130 and it's been difficult to find a site that will let me shrink it to an exact size.. So how did you guys pick your avatar, and how did you get it to the right size and still make it look clear? The first question is just to spur conversation, the second I really need answered so I can feel included :D

I don't know how to make avatars or how to ask them, so I ask other fellow forum members to help me with it :)

I could have done better making the forehead and hat look right, but I'm lazy.
If you ladies leave my island, if you survive recruit training you'll be a weapon, a minister of death praying for war. Until that day you are the lowest form of life on Earth. You are'nt even human ****ing beings. You're nothing but unorganized pieces of amphibian ****. Because I'm hard you'll not like me, but the more you hate me the more you'll learn. Uh...I use Photoshop and Fireworks. It lets you do all kinds of cool stuff like resizing and cropping and adding effects.

I use Photoshop, but a good free alternative is GIMP or PAINT.NET

I use photoshop too.
I used tutorials in the internet to learn how to work with it, and I'm always trying something new there!
For a final touch I use Photoscape, it was my first try, before PS. Its free and very easy to use... you can resize images and do a lot of stuff, including gifs!
