2008 was MUCH better than 2009, great final, yes. But Roddick is no where near as good as Nadal so the over-all quality of shots, ralleys, etc was no where near as good, 2008 is not only the greatest tennis match I have seen, it's the greatest sporting event I have witnessed.

All in my opinion, of course.

I would agree in terms quality, for sure. It's just, for me, there was more excitement in 2009, mainly cos the final set was so edge-of-your-seat :D

Oh, I agree...the 2008 final featured a much higher quality of tennis overall. It was probably the greatest tennis match that I have ever witnessed. Nadal finally being able to beat Federer away from a clay court. It was truly awesome IMO. What made the 2009 final great to me was the fact that Andy Roddick was playing way above what he normally played. The fact that he was able to push Federer that far in the 5th set after being down 2 sets to 1...then winning the 4th set and then pushing Roger so far. But then, that match may never have happened if Nadal had been healthy....

I'm glad, lol, it's about time they both suffer early defeats

Sharapova FTW :D

Djokovic or Federer for me, now!

So glad they two are out, I hate them so much.
If Murray can keep up the standard from today, he has a great chance! Still sticking with my original assumption though, Federer or Djokovic! Nadal might have lessened his chances after todays awesome match, tiring and with an injury.

Im rooting for Sharapova on the women's side.

As for the men...call me old fashioned, but I want to see another Federer/Nadal final.

Nadal FTW!!!

MRI has shown no serious damage. So he will take to the practice court today and decide if he can go on! Hope he can.

I hope he's fit to play well tomorrow! He's playing the American Mardy Fish, so he may not need to be at 100% tomorrow in order to win. Now, granted it is the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, so there will be no "easy" victories. He will need to be close to 100%.

Anyway...if everything works out to form, we should have an AWESOME set of semifinal matches.

Andy Murray vs. Rafael Nadal

&

Roger Federer vs. Novak Djokovic

That of course is assuming that there are no upsets tomorrow! :scared:

I still say that we see a Federer/Nadal final.
