Refuge for the DCaaPB Addicts

So... I guess we'll chat in here?

And then we'll just hope that someone remembers to go back and post in the other thread when there's a clue. But I have a feeling that thread will die off without all the other chat. :(

Other thread has been locked now, I guess because we stayed off topic. So... I'll be here if anyone needs me, instead of the ARG forum. Or I'll be on twitter as mspixieriot.

Hi Pixie, hi Jemma. How is everyone's day so far?

ETA: And everyone else who showed up in the last minute. :)

What happened is someone called in a moderator to enforce the topic, so we are now only allowed to talk off-topic in the Chunky Ham forum, not in the LOST ARG forum. So I started a thread here.

I REALLY hope this doesn't drive anyone away. I'd miss you all too much.

Oh since I didn't get it out before - HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAUL! YAY!

Don't worry, I think sooner or later everyone will find their way here.

Does the name "chunky ham" make anyone else cringe a little? :bored:

I'm surprised this one didn't get closed too.

We can just talk OT and on-topic (when circumstance dictates) in here instead, right? :D So it'll be like the other thread all over again. :D

Oh noes :( I get confused enough as is when it comes to forums, I hope I can find this thread easy enough. I think a bookmarking is in order. I hope it doesn't make people go walkies either, I've felt out of the loop this past few days for not chatting as much - I dread to think what it could be like if everyone goes  I'm following you on Twitterness Miss Pixie :) I'm miss_lafleur. :D

Hey Aquarius - I'm not too bad thanks, well, I could be a hell of a lot better but I must grin and bear it. Getting frustrated with the assignment I have on evolution. I'm the most indecisive person I know and choosing a species to do the paper on is proving hard enough work - nevermind 2000 words talking about it! How are you doing?? Good I hope! and yes! Chunky Ham does not make me think happy things.....

We were being followed........ :hmm:

This OT stuff is so silly - surprised they locked the thread; I mean what are we supposed to do whilst waiting on a clue??

Anyway, thx pixie for starting this thread. I went over to that ham thread and didn't recognize anyone and really don't want to post there.

You think everyone will come over here for OT talk? Ugh - I don't want to have to go back and forth between two threads - I can barely keep up w/ one!

I'm having trouble getting onto FB at the moment, but I was going to go and let people know where we are. We all know how confusing it can be if someone is away for a day or two and doesn't know what is going on!

ETA: Ugh, my grammar is terrible today.

I'd gladly post a link if you like? Facebook has been a pain for the past few days (not sure if it has for everyone, but definitely has for me  )

The reason we are moving the off-topic chatter out is not because of being "called in" to enforce arbitary rules, but because of a continued evaluation of the thread. We decided that there was nowhere everyday members could discuss the ARG, and also felt that a group of members were spending all their time in one thread and not integrating with the rest of the forum community, which we prefer. I hope everyone understands and respects that, and continues to enjoy the forum.

We're pleased that people are finding friends and a community on these forums and we do want to support that, but it's not fair for our rules to only be enforced some places and not others. Hence the current situation which I hope suits everyone.

Relevant part of the forum rules:
De-railing of threads and discussions:

Derailment occurs when a particular thread discussion is ignored and an unrelated discussion is started. Derailment is more often than not caused by spammy conversations between users.

Examples of thread de-railing are:

• Advertising a thread within an unrelated thread
• Starting and continuing a conversation that pays little or no relation to the thread itself
• Using a discussion thread to chatter casually amongst friends

Discussion derailment is greatly frowned upon. It is considered rude and discourteous. De-railing thread discussions disrupts the flow of the intended topic/s. Forum members who wish to partake in forum discussions can often find themselves deterred when threads are derailed in this manner. This is not fair, and it will not be tolerated.

All cases of discussion derailment will be dealt with seriously, so please heed this advice.

Additionally, it is against the rules to publicly query a moderators decision, so please PM me with any complaints or questions.
