That truly is terrifying. Not just the most terrifying Japan tsunami video, probably one of the most terrifying videos there is on YouTube. The force of nature is really unimaginable. The difference of that street-view after five minutes is unbelievable.
"He smiles. The plane is gone, finally free of the island. Jack Shephard has done what he came to this place to do. He has found his purpose. He has found love. And been loved. And he has finally found a way to love himself. The bamboo sways across the blue sky. And Jack Shephard's eye closes one final time. He is gone."

Why isn't the camera man running? It's scary how fast the waters destroyed the buildings and swept everything away. It only took a couple of minutes.

Heiots, beSt place to be was on top of that building! no where else they could have gone.

That is truly the worst thing I've seen... And it's video! I can't even begin to imagine what the people on those buildings were feeling!

Horrific.

True, but I'm not so such they'd be able to get away quick enough... Considering the speed the wave was travelling at. :(

I'm not sure. I could be completely wrong. But thats what I think.

Well, I'm sure the person is okay. Otherwise they would not have been able to upload the video to YouTube.

I'm not sure where this is but I saw a video taken at the Sendai airport where people stood on top of the buildings there watching the destruction go by. Just the horrible fear with nothing they could do. :( Most of the big, commercial buildings in Japan were built to earthquake/tsunami specifications so that would be the best place to wait it out and they do have a warning system which probably saved many more lives.

always been fascinated by earthquakes...i suppose its easy to be fascinated not actually being there...

in sendai they had tsunami walls built up to 10 metres high, problem was the earthquake subsided the land by about 3 or 4 metres...

the simple fact is there is nothing you can do with an earthquake that powerful & that close...any warning alarms would be seconds before the tsunami hit...
You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don't
owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to
put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission,
don't even start asking for theirs.

It's truly frightening. Literally 5 minutes is all it took for that area to be wiped out and covered with water.

Edit - blimey, credit to the designers of these buildings...

The tsunami wave is carrying burning fires along with as it mows down villages and destroys hectares of farmland. Flabbergasted and speechless. Fingers crossed that most people had enough advance warning to evacuate.
