If River Song and the Weeping Angels are mid-season, and not the finale, he must have something extraordinary for the finale.

Well, I hope they're wrong with Cybermen for the finale. :bored:

It wouldn't be the Pete's World Cybermen, so they would be slightly different...

Plus Moffat could pull it off better than anyone else can. I just hope Smith can too.

i think they shud invent some new aliens. Slowly introduce them during the season and then the big reveal in the finale. Cybermen and daleks less scary everytime they defeat them

RTD invented some, so I'm sure Moffat will too.

Daleks are always fun though, and to be honest, this season is going to be so vastly different from the previous that it will be hard to tell its the same show sometimes lol so some familiarity will be good.

Well is it true that BBC considers the next season "season 1"?

Yes.

From a Production Standpoint, this is "Series 1"

"Series 1" is even worse.

Well that kinda indicates a whole new show tbh.

A lot of people have gotten worked up over the decision to rebrand Series 5 as Series 1, but it kind of makes sense to me.

If I had to guess, I'd say that there is chance Moffat wants to better bond the classic series with the new series by rebranding the seasons/series by Doctor. All of the classic series are made up of Seasons, so Season 1 refers to Hartnell's Doctor. Series 1 is Ecceleston. Maybe the Moff will do away with the Series/Seasons dispute and just repackage everything by Doctor and season. So, when you buy Matt Smith's first season on DVD, the cover will say:

The Eleventh Doctor
Series 1

And it could even be referred to as Series 11.1

So what we know now as Series 2--Tennant's first--would be 10.1 (Hartnell's could be rebranded as 1.1, etc.)

Also, I think it would be more welcoming for viewers who have never seen the show before to hear that it's only Series 1. Makes them think that they haven't missed anything. (If NewWho is still going in 10 years, it could get a bit ridiculous marketing the new series as Series 15 instead of Series 1 for the 13th Doctor or something...)

Either way, I don't see it as a big deal. Hell, this may all just be from a production standpoint and not a marketing standpoint, we'll have to wait and see.

Well that kinda indicates a whole new show tbh.

Not a whole new show, just a whole new take on the same show. ;) That's why it's still alive and kicking after almost 50 years.
