Hey YALL!

I've never started a topic thread... so hear goes.

The goal here, is to streamline our ideas and clues about the 2009 ARG-Viral Marketing Campaign. IF you choose to post here, it is to be about ideas revolving around clues, poster reveals, the artists, and the posters themselves.

Please keep the OT discussion in another thread or here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=13728 (Chunky Ham Forum) where everyone is welcome and OT discussion is encouraged!

And i will do my best to transfer information from the above mentioned thread to this one.... so everyone can stay simply in the know!! This thread follows the information and events of the Damon Carlton and a Polar Bear website. As new frames open, they will be added to the top of the page, at this point... starting with Frame #13.

Ok... so i'll be first.

Anyone want to take a guess as to when we are gonna get our first clue??

I first thought, it would be quick... like tonight or tomorrow night. But then i realized, with Halloween, and the changing of the clocks.... I don't think we're gonna get a clue til sometime next week.

My guess is that the next reveal will be early week, Monday or Tuesday. So i'm guessing it's gonna be til next Wed at the earliest that we get a clue... unless they go with giving us a clue every other day instead of every day.

I think here the line we should pay particular attention to is: We know how much collectors like having their things in SUPER condition.

And even further examining the clue... i think the word SUPER here is the key.....

SO get your ideas flowing.

I don't know about Super, but the obvious connections are:

Superman
Super Bowl (waaaay too early, though)
Super Nintendo? Hahaha
Superdome
Supertramp
...and my creativity is exhausted for now.

So my guess like some others i've seen is that it's a Comic book store/super hero related...could it be the NY FP, they did say in Glasgow there would be a something happening in NY store, they just didn't say when!!!

Mandy I completely understand where you are coming from. I've had to be reeled back in quite a few times from my LOST obsession. Family & friends actually tried to set up an intervention not long ago...in a joking way of course. It's the price we all pay for such a loooooong hiatus me thinks Do what you need to do and know that we are always with you in spirit. You will be missed but the times that you are able to share with us all will be that more rewarding on both ends

Congrats to Congested. Dude...that is so awesome. I'm thinking that SUPER is definetly the first part of the clue but if you add the next word condition...SUPER CONDITION...makes me think of a gym or health food store perhaps??
But the NY FB is a good guess too and probably more along the lines their heading. I seem to be more wrong than right when it comes to sleuthing the clues

I seem to recall a field for discount code on the order form for the posters.

Maybe the capital letter "S" in Super and missing "O" in the web address (and other typos along the way) have been an underlying code pointing to a discount code? The dimmed number 4 in the love triangle poster and the extra number 5 on the dharma van might point towards toward some sort of code too. Just something I was thinking about this morning. It would be great if this were the case....perhaps leading to free poster(s) during the "buy now". Yeah....well....a girl can dream, can't she?

I think someone else may have mentioned something similar...I'm starting to wonder if we should take a closer look at these. The only problem is.....who wants to take the extra 3-5 seconds it would take to enter a "suspect" code?

Also, there is a bar in Austin TX called Red 7. Seems unlikely tho since there was already a TX reveal.

I think batman was the first to make the move from spandex to latex. And collectible toys are often made from latex too.

I think the holes are from using MSPaint to make the number, using the paint brush ap to fill things in leaves little holes or spaces like that, it is the same with the R and H from #9. i don't think the holes are a clue.

The Super clue and the NY forbidden planet clue make me think that there is a comicbook that came out at the same time? why would they give out backer boards and no comic?
